1.2 Compliance

Middle Georgia State University strives to comply with all applicable Federal and State laws, rules, and regulations and encourages ethical conduct as detailed in the USG Ethics Policy in alignment with USG BOR Policy 7.12 – Compliance.

The President  is responsible for ensuring that the University complies with all laws, rules and regulations. The Internal Auditor is the designated MGA ethics and compliance officer. Each VP/division/department/unit head is responsible for identifying and documenting applicable federal and state laws specific to the functions of their department/unit and for the development of policies and procedures to ensure compliance. If needed, the VP/division/department/unit head should seek assistance from the compliance officer and/or Legal Affairs with the interpretation of and compliance with laws, rules and regulations.
