General Guidelines

Tuition is the payment required for credit-based instruction and is charged to all students.  Mandatory Student Fees are assessed upon enrollment to all students, all undergraduate students, or all full-time undergraduate students on one or more campuses of an institution.   Elective fees and Special Charges are required to be paid by subgroups of students.   Tuition rates, Mandatory Fees, and most Elective fees are approved by the Board of Regents (BOR) at the April meeting to go into effect the following Fall Semester.  The BOR allows certain fees to be authorized by the Institution President rather than requiring BOR approval.   Current tuition and fee rates can be found on the Bursar’s web page.

Payment of Tuition and Fees

Middle Georgia State University (MGA) adheres to the Board of Regents Policy Manual, Section 7.3.2.1 which states that all tuition and fees (mandatory and elective) are due and payable upon registration, with few exceptions.  The purpose of the policy is to ensure that enrolled students have demonstrated the ability to pay their tuition and fees either through actual payment, a guarantee of payment from federal financial aid or other outside sources, or based on an approved installment plan.  Generally, student balances should be settled on the last day of the drop/add period.

MGA follows all policies regarding tuition and fees as set forth in Section 7.3 of the Board of Regents Policy Manual.
